Day 36: Short and Short

Tuesday Night means tired.

Today went well. I was sluggish all day at the CDI, even with a Power Snack. The devotional seemed to land the second session, I feel unsure about the first session. During the first session, we saw a traffic collision happen right outside the CDI, so there's not really any group recovery after that. A motorcycle ran the stop sign and got hit by a car. The guy was ok, but dang. That's how sleepy I am, I forgot about that until just now when I was trying to figure out why the first session was so long.

Matthias (or maybe Matias?) was the troublemaker today. He refused to listen or comply with  a n y t h i n g  that was asked of him, including holding my hand on the walk to school (he's small enough and enough of a wildcard that I think it's needed). He cried and fought and kicked and yelled the entire trip. Sometimes he would just stop and fall over, so I had to carry him a few times. He liked that even less than holding my hand. It's hard for me to know what to do in circumstances like that. I don't want to physically force these kids to do anything, but there's certain circumstances (like not hurting others and not running into traffic) that I don't know what else to do. Any parents out there with feedback or advice, please lmk, lol.

We rode the bus home and got ready for the Bible Study. I cooked the pasta, so I felt pretty proud of myself, even though it didn't have (and needed) salt. We got everything ready, Livie showed up... and nobody else came. We assume it's because it's finals week. It might be that it got out that I was cooking. We still had some worship and prayer time and a brief discussion of Romans 5 though, so that was encouraging.

Tomorrow is H@ngout, and the Wright State team (speaking of wildcards) will be joining us. They got into town tonight (we think) and will (probably) come to campus with us tomorrow. Maybe someday I'll talk more about them. We're hoping to share the gospel pretty directly in smaller groups tomorrow, so please be praying for us.

[Hey Thanh! I saw your comments on my blog this year. You should email me. I left some comments on your About to Become a Catholic blog. Miss you and am praying for you!]

PRAYER PLEASE
-for the kids at the CDI
-for our team to have some time this week to start processing the end of our trip with God
-for H@ngout tomorrow (good weather, good attendance, good tacos, good gospel conversations)
-for the church here to be blessed and provided for
-for my friend Thanh

Again, no pictures. So...here's a picture of a Christmas tree:
