Day 61: Oops, Forgot to Post

In my defense, I've decided to admit to being sick. 

We traveled back from La Fortuna, but before we left, we got lunch at Pollo Fortuneña, I think. It was really, really good. 

I slept most of the van ride home, so nothing to report there. 

We got back just in time to catch an Uber to the mall where we were meeting the H@ngout students and be a little late for the movie. We watched the new Thor movie with Tannia, Diego, and Ada. It was a lot of fun. I spent most of the movie just trying not to cough too loudly. 

Afterwards, we went to eat at Taco Bell, and then went dancing with the students who had come to the movie, along with a few others. It was really funny seeing the similarities and differences between going to Harry's with the HG and going dancing with H@ngout. There was still the find-a-booth-in-the-corner vibe, and still the gender split in seating, and still more girls than guys. Biggest differences were that everyone wanted to dance, and the music was different. There weren't quite line dances, but people did get hype for the Macarena and YMCA, lol. Also, it stayed open until midnight, rather than 2 AM, which was nice, because I was super sleepy by the end of it.

It feels like we have forged good connections with the students we've been able to interact with, but the turnout when we invite people to things is always really low, which has been discouraging. 

We came home, I did laundry, I did some admin work, I fell asleep without blogging. I can tell I'm just in make-it-to-the-end mode right now. But, it's basically almost time to start making plans for CR for next year, and is basically time to be thinking about HG and ministry in the fall. It's gonna hit hard and fast and I am a little nervous.

-for good team dynamics

-for our Balkans team as they travel home

-for our last week to be filled with fruit (or at least more good sowing)
-for the church here to reap good fruit from our work and theirs
-for my team to process and debrief well our experiences here

-for wisdom as we think forward about Costa Rica and what next year can look like
