A couple of people have asked about the comments appearing on my blog, generally saying things that are unkind or show a lot of hurt. I've deleted a lot of them and I've enabled comment moderation on my blog, so if anyone posts, it may take a while to show up, but please feel free to continue to comment, everyone!

I figured I'd address the comments and hurt here, and ask for prayer:

I have a friend, who came to Christ through the ministry of our Homegroup about 8 years ago, who we got to see grow a lot and who is pretty dearly loved by a lot of people in our church. He and I struggled to have healthy boundaries; specifically, he didn't respond well when I tried to implement them, and I tried to implement them fairly late in our interactions. After a couple of years, he moved away and we fell out of contact. In the last couple of years, he has gotten involved with a different expression of Christianity and, I think, has decided that the evangelical church is unhealthy and should be opposed. Specifically, a lot of the hurt and doctrinal offense he feels has been channeled and directed towards me. Some of it's likely fair, and some of it isn't.

I've reached out a few times over a few different mediums, but he's been unwilling to meet with me and explain where his hurt comes from and why he thinks the evangelical church is heretical. I am concerned for him in a lot of ways, but unsure how to proceed. Please be praying for him, I love him a lot and feel really sad about what he is experiencing.
