Day 29 (22): TGIM

a.k.a. "Wait! What happened to yesterday!"

Wow. Well, it happened. We knew it would. I missed a day. So, what happened yesterday?

We started our yesterday in the hotel, I sat in the pool, hiding in the shade from the sun. We had some food poisoning happen. We drove home still. Traffic was really bad because everybody was also driving home and the roads were all under construction. That + food poisoning made for a very terrible ride for our person. But, they handled it like a champ. I'm super seriously super impressed. We made it home. We couldn't get into our house for a little bit. I felt a little sick, but not bad.

"Wow, why can't all your posts be that concise?"
Because that's not how my brain works. It's not offensive to just scroll to the end to look at pictures and get the prayer requests. You do you.

Ok, so today. I slept really weirdly. Lots of weird dreams, lots of talking (actually whispering, apparently, sorry Matthew) in my sleep. Woke up about a million times. BUT, I woke up feeling mostly refreshed and with no more fever, so hey.

We had eggs for breakfast! I'd missed eggs for breakfast. Our count now is at 161. We spent some time in prayer and then headed for the CDI.

We were short-handed today (see yesterday), but we got most of everything done still. We had a good time with the kids; Georgen led the Bible study again and it went really well. The older kids get really excited about acting out the stories. The younger kids are usually too shy for it. We played and practiced our English and music skills that we had learned in previous weeks. I consistently lost at ninja. We drew lots of pictures on the white board and some on the wall. Good day :)

After the CDI time, we had guitar lessons again. I drew up lots of chord charts and watched and cleaned up a little.

We hopped on the bus and met up with Micah at our former hotel. Micah goes to Fellowship in C-Stat, but is here in Costa Rica for a little while. We had dinner together and got to share about what all we've been doing here. We were too late for him to get an Uber home, but he caught a taxi just in time.

We headed home and watched a movie and here we are! My computer did something funky, so I need to upload all my pictures from the weekend and check emails and stuff and also figure out what my computer's up to. But, that's the plan for tonight. Tomorrow we'll have the little kids again and then H@ngout :)

Also, TGIM is the name of Lagos' podcast, but it feels really good to be back in the week, in the swing of things. This weekend was really relaxing and I'm so, so grateful we got to go, but I'm also glad to get back to work.

PRAYER:
- for our team to be operating from a place of being centered in, and driven by, our relationships with God
- for the church here to continue to boldly follow God
- for the kids at the CDI; for their lives now and their families and their futures and their community
- for the students in H@ngout to connect deeply to each other, to the church here, and (most importantly) to God

Pictures:
These aren't from today (no camera), but are from this weekend:

Looks fake, right?

It was quite lovely

I love beaches

There's my face, you're welcome

I really wanted to climb on that rock island thing, but I didn't

Lizard was not my friend, alas.
