Day 20 (13): Drain

It's deeply sad to me that it didn't line up to be 20(11), but what can you do?

We didn't do anything at the CDI today. Katie and I made breakfast. I had to go get more eggs because we ran out. I got a bunch of good stuff at the AM/PM, then I realized that I had forgotten my wallet. Sigh. The guy was nice though and kept my stuff behind the register while I ran home. But, even more than that, he put the cokes I had back in the fridge so that they would stay cold. Classy.

We hung out for a bit, then all went to the grocery store. We couldn't find a sink drain blocker thing though. Our shower floods when you use it at high pressure for more than about a minute. But, nobody really wants to take long or high-pressured showers, because there's no hot water. We're trying to be careful with the sink to make sure it doesn't get clogged, but we'll see.

Katie went to hang out with Ana today, which I think is awesome. Little moments of friendship and encouragement can mean a lot, I think.

I tried to clean out the shower drain. I tried with my hands (which was gross and ineffective), a paper towel (less gross, equally ineffective), a clothes hanger (less gross, maaybe a touch more effective), drain cleaner (???), hot water, a plunger, and giving the drain a pep talk and insults. None of these things seemed particularly effective though. It floods a little slower, but not significantly.

Matthew, Sheryl, and I hung out around the house and rested today. I napped and listened to music and worked on 1 John.

We watched the church service together, which was really good (what I understood). Katie and Ana came for dinner and then we watched a really dark movie that portrayed God as a crazy, needy, careless jerk. Then we watched The Chosen for a palate-cleanser.

God's just really, really good, you know? So it makes me sad and kinda mad when he gets portrayed as not that.

Anyway...chill day today. I spent a lot of time thinking about the idea of Team. I don't quite know what my thoughts are yet, maybe I'll have them organized tomorrow. I feel kind of drained after such a relaxing day.

PRAYER
- that our team will continue to bond well and stay centered on God
- for good, filling rest and a good start to next week
