I am in México!

You might be thinking, "weird flex, but ok." Well, you're probably only thinking that if you're under the age of 25. Which, I'm not, so

You might be thinking, "that's an odd thing to brag about on a Costa Rica blog, but ok..."

Monterrey - and specifically the regios that I know and love here - has/have been such a huge part of my spiritual growth and development in my understanding of culture and Spanish and myself and my relationship with God. Getting to be back here is intoxicating. Especially bringing my own car and having the freedom to roam about at will. Every person I've gotten to see, I have wanted to sit and talk with them for hours. I have real, solid, loving friendships here...but they are friendships that are difficult to invest in to the depth I want, because of just general life separation.

And yet, I don't feel more than a passing sadness when I think about it, because I know that I get to spend eternity with these brothers and sisters in heaven. Even if I never saw them again in life, I get them for forever.

It makes me wonder, 10 years from now, what will I say about Costa Rica and the ticos I'll have gotten to meet? There's something magical and exciting and kind of nervousifying about meeting people that could have that kind of impact on you... but isn't that the case with every single person you ever meet in life?
